Welcome Back PNN
Welcome Back PNN
Glad that PNN is getting on it's feet again.
I'm writing a few blogs of my own and setting up an online service to review blogs and basically do online PR for bloggers. It is taking a lot of time, energy and bravery. The bravery is the part I have more trouble with.
If someone stops by here leave a note. Now that PNN is going to stay online I will add this link to the sites I keep track of.
Cards, Boys and the Itchiness of Being
Cards, Boys and the Itchiness of Being
Allergies are not your friend. That's all I have to say at this time. I need to write a short story, talk to the BF and play cards with my Mother. Not in that order.
Facebook Addiction
Facebook Addiction
I'm working on an addiction to Facebook games. What makes it easier to stop playing them are the games themselves. Slow to load, crashing and then all the nagging for your money to get extra items and nagging you to spam your friends and get more friends to get extra items. It's all bent on getting people addicted. Like collecting as a hobby. But, on a Facebook game you don't need to find storage or dust any of it.
Still they suck up a lot of time, just waiting for them to load/ if they load that day. In the end what do you really have to show for your time? A graphic image you don't really own and can't do much with outside of playing the game. It's ok as a hobby. It's not so ok as an addiction.
Today in Soap Opera Land
Today in Soap Opera Land
I'm watching the soap operas today. Some I never got watching before but was too busy with other things to change the channel. Some I watch sporadically. I don't know which are the popular soaps in the ratings and which get the most viewers.
One of them has actors that have grown old on the soap. Now, it's great to have them around, still having a storyline. But, it is a bit too geriatric to have them as the major stars still, crowding out the storylines of the younger people. Not that the older generation has no stories. But it is the younger generations who are more active with career, marriage, having children and juggling it all. If not featured, they should be at least balanced out with the older generation.
Another thing, the one that annoyed me, was the young woman with a career and supposedly a brain, could not make dinner. She had a recipe to follow and yet when the guy comes in she is all aflutter with flour in her hair, the dinner mucked up and etc. Now, this is an intelligent woman. Is she pretending to be a ditz? Is she really just this incompetent? Or have the writers gone too far on an old fashioned stereotype? I think it's the last one. I think the writers need to change their attitude about women. We can be pretty, fashionable and clever too. We can even read and use a recipe to cook dinner or bake a cake.
So that is my take on the soap operas today. Have you watched any lately?
Welcome to Me
Welcome to Me
Do the blogs here get read? I have an idea for a blog I wanted to write but had not found a place to put it. I like writing as part of a network of blogs. The two things most important to me about a network are the community of writers, that it be busy, active. The other is the network itself. I like to know it is progressive, growing and actively interested and in tune with the community and writers taking part in the network. It's been awhile since I have found that in any network and I have joined several in looking for it.
Anyway, dipping my toes in here a bit more and will see if this suits me. I like the look of it already. :)

Hello from Ontario
Will come up with something to post. For now...
I've got a regular niche blog for web/ blog writers and creative wordies: Word Grrls. From there you can find me on Twitter and other digitally social places.
Women of the Web
Women are now the major force on the web, using the media to further their careers, share creative work and grow major social movements. This is a group for them, and to post about them.
